Spring Break 2010

Well our spring break pictures will be quite opposite of most people's...we had SNOW this year! It was the weirdest craziest thing but my kids were honestly out in the snow having a blast over spring break. Luckily it all melted within 2 days and never really stuck to the roads, but maybe next year we really need to plan on leaving for spring break so we can at least see the sunshine!

Brecken had a blast swinging as high as she could then bailing off into the snow!

St. Patrick's Day 2010

St. Patrick's Day 2010

Bubba's brother Aaron and his wife Kate made a quick trip out to see everyone. While they were here they blessed their newest additions to the family... TWINS Annie and Aubrey! It was so fun to get to be a part of a big day!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a St.Patrick's Day party where we all made leprechaun catchers. They turned out so adorable. It looks like a leprechaun hat and has a little stick latter for the leprechaun to climb up. At the top of the hat is some GOLD (spray painted rocks). The kids laughed and thought they were so funny making rocks looked like gold and thought it was really tricky. We made a hole in the felt so the Leprechaun would fall into the big hat trying to get over to the gold!
Hhhmm the 11 girls really out number the 3 boys in this picture!

Brecken and Tate both had me come into their classes to show them the trap they had made, and wanted me to read the note that the Leprechaun had written to them.

This note was left with a bag of a bunch of different green candy for the kids this morning. The note seriously fits into the palm of my hand...I cannot believe how teeny tiny those little Leprechauns can write!!

pillow pets, prom, hut

March 12, 2010

My mom went on a birthday shopping spree, and then decided it was torture to wait until all the grandkids' birthdays to give them their present. So we had a huge sleepover party where she gave each kid their Pillow Pet! They were all so darling and so soft! It was fun to see their faces as they saw them. Brecken got a pig, Tate got a monkey, and Avery got a lamb! I was just really sad I didn't get a picture of all the grandkids together with their pillows, but here is an idea of what they looked like.

Here is the gigantic hut that filled the basement! Kallin (my sister) and some friends had made it earlier in the week, so they conveniently left it up for the grandkids. I think they had a blast in it, and they all slept somewhere in it.

March 13, 2010

This weekend was also Junior Prom for my twin sisters! Karli is in purple, and Kallin is in pink. It was so much fun being there when they were getting ready. Their poor dates had to come in and get them with all the brothers and sisters and in-laws and grandkids all standing around oohhing and aaahing. It was so funny. I was the official corsage lady along with my fun role of strapping up the back of the twins dresses, I loved it! The girls were beautiful, as you can see!!

okay I was joking around in this shot and being dramatic... but there was quite a crowd gathered to see them both off, what a blast!

Whoops = Ouch !

Tate is now officially on his 2nd set of stitches! The sad thing is I don't expect this to be the last time either. This time it didn't take acrobats or flips...just a little slip! We had gone over to Jack and Deb's house for lunch after the Junior Jazz games and he was in the bathroom changing. He slipped on a pair of shorts that were on the tile and smacked his chin right on the edge of the tub! Poor kid, Bubba wanted to just take him to his office and stitch it up but apparently didn't have the right size of suture made out of the right material, so we ended up taking him into the ER.

The hospital gave him this adorable Teddy Bear with a band aid on it's chin, He loved it! We asked him what he was going to name the bear and his first response was Dilk........ummm okay sure buddy, at this point I was wondering what exactly was in the medicine they gave him. He later more appropriately named him Stitches!

Here he is all stitched up and ready to go play again. The Doctor was even nice enough to give Bubba a couple packages of sutures for our first aid kit, that way when this happens again we'll have the right ammo!

Handsome Little Man...

look out Ladies...Tate informed me a little while ago that he needs "Real Church Clothes."
"You know, like the ones Daddy wears to church."
So we found a couple new suits for the little man. I couldn't resist posting these adorable shots of my handsome little future missionary.

Lots of Love!

We started a new tradition this year for Valentines day and it was really fun. The week before Valentines day when the kids woke up they would check the "Valentine mailbox". Each morning they would get a little "Love Note" from Mom and Dad telling them why they love them so much. The kids could also leave Love Notes for anyone in the family. Let's just say we were definitely "feelin the LOVE" that week! The kids were so excited each morning and also left us some pretty adorable notes as well!

Both of the kids had a fun Valentines party at school and got to give their classmates valentines! They both excited to show off their box full of valentines once they got home.

Brecken's Valentine Hair-do was a big hit at school. She said everyone went crazy over the hearts that were on her head! She really looked adorable!

We sure love all of our sweet family and friends too!

Celebrating Tate...

This Handsome little guy got to celebrate his "Half Birthday" in School this month. Tate was so excited to bring treats to his class and get to be the teacher's special helper for the day. With these dark eyes and cute little grin he's got me wrapped around his finger. There's nothing I wouldn't do for this sweet little boy. I am so thankful everyday for him!

So big so fast, well...???

When I looked at these random spontaneous pictures that I took the other day I thought to myself, " wow these kids are getting so big, I can't believe how fast they are growing up." Then when I looked at the last one something dawned on me...

Getting so big? what am I talking about, This shirt Brecken is wearing is the shirt that she wore on the first day of Kindergarten! And now she is almost done with 2nd grade! oh boy she may be getting older, but I really don't think she's getting any Bigger! Something is definitely wrong here, and I know exactly what it is she's got my genes, poor girl.
It did make me feel a little better that I told her that was probably the last time she would wear that shirt because it was getting a little small.

An Extra Allred

For a week I got to experience four kids!! Tate's friend Blake lived with us for while his parents went on a vacation. I have to admit twins would be easy as long as you get them when they're 5. We had a blast with Blake here. They boys played and laughed and were so good. The kids loved having Blake as a new brother! This particular night they were laughing so hard at dinner I was scared one of them was going to choke. It was such a fun week.

A little piece of Avery

Avery is in a very funny stage right now. She has thought she is older than she really is since the day she was born. With Avery around Brecken and Tate tend to be pretty protective of their special things because they don't want her to get them. She has learned quickly how to protect her precious things and keep an extra close eye on them. I still don't know who she thinks she's protecting them from. Right now a few of her favorite things are...

"Softy" her teddy bear. She got softy when she turned one and believe it or not we still have him around. This is amazing considering all the places she's left him and the tears that have come when she realized it. He's been left at stores, pharmacy's and just about every house in Grantsville. But one way or another we have tracked him down, washed him up, and Avery is once again SO happy. She sleeps with Softy every night and drags him around no matter what she's doing. Brecken and Tate love to tease Avery and ask her if Softy is a boy or a girl. Her simple answer is always the same. " She's a boy!"

A few other things she loves are all together in this picture so I had to grab my camera quickly.
Sunglasses, "sippies with chocolate milk", and chapstick.
She came in this day and asked me if she could watch Dora as she plopped down onto the couch, I took one look at her and started laughing, this is SO Avery in a nutshell holding onto so many things she has. Good thing she was prepared to watch a show!

And while documenting Avery's precious things I could never leave out FLIP FLOPS. It is right in the middle of Winter but she does still wear her flip flops around the house!

Nothing like a little Jr. Jazz...

There's nothing better than starting off the first Saturday of the year with good old
Jr. Jazz basketball. Brecken was so nervous before their first game and kept saying,
" Mom I can't believe we have to play a game, we've only had one practice and I'm so nervous."

Bubba is her coach and runs along side all the little girls helping teach them, so I think that helped calm Brecken down a little bit.

This is them lining up against the other team to decide which player they will guard.
hhhmmm I don't know if any other team will have anyone as short as Brecken (bummer).
But I also don't think they'll have anyone as tall as her cousin Ashton either (sweet).

After awhile Breck relaxed and was really having fun. The funniest thing was watching her run down and hug Bubba after each basket made, then frantically look around and chase after the girl she should have been guarding. People probably realized very quickly which one was the coach's daughter.

Brecken you did such a good job in your first basketball game! You may have been the tiniest one out there, but you've got a gigantic heart.

You even shot and made your first basket! Way to go.
