Making Something of Nothing

My kids crack me up on a daily basis. Along with making unnecessary messes every day. Tate had gotten a little stuffed animal parrot from the treasure box at school, so naturally my kids decided they need to build him a home. They really are creative because I didn't touch their project and it turned out really pretty cool. they just kept hunting through my cupboards for boxes, tape, scissors, and more tape! Pretty clever

It even has garage that lifts up in the back to put his bed into.

Here they are showing it off to Dad when he got home

Tate has really grasped the concept of seeing meaningless items and making them into something of great worth...

His latest inventions include "Robot man" and his precious "Rock men"

Tate loves riding his bike around the block looking for discarded treasures that will make body parts for his Rock men. He then brings a bunch of garbage home and starts building men out of it. Tate will ask me several times a week , "Mom can I go around the block and collect Junk?"

Wow just what every Mother wants her young son to ASPIRE to!!

Baseball Opening Day

April 17, 2010

Today we kicked off the Baseball Season!! Tate is now in the minor league instead of T-ball which he loves because it's a coach pitch league. We started the day off with a game then met back at the ball park for the "opening ceremonies"

Tate and his cousin Davin are on the same team this year which will be so much fun for them and for us moms sitting in the stands!

The League had each team decorate a sign and ride down the street for a little mini parade while their names were announced. They were then escorted over to the ball field.

Here are the supportive sisters...
Avery, Skylar, and Ashley playing on the curb during the parade.

Once we got to the field they announced everyone and gave them all well wishes for a good season. Then everyone sang "Take me out to the ball game" at the end they let off some lound firecrackers....it was really cute.

Best buds got drafted to different teams...darn!

Tate's Kindergarten performance

March 25, 2010

We got to watch Tate perform in his Kindergarten performance, he did such a good job and the program was so adorable! They sing the cutest song at the beginning about being in Kindergarten, learning, growing and reaching high....it was so cute.

At the end of the performance they all do the Chicken Dance!

They even get to pull someone out of the audience to do the Chicken Dance with them. Tate and Avery then had a blast laughing and dancing together.

Here is Tate and his best buddy Blake at the end.

Easter weekend...

Saturday April 3, 2010

We woke the kids up on Saturday because the Easter bunny had hidden their baskets during the night. They got busy hunting for them and finally found them in some really random places

Brecken's basket was in the storage room under some tupperware this year.

Tate's was in the downstairs bathroom linen closet this year. Does he think this is the face you make no matter what you are doing in the bathroom??? Someone needed to remind him he was on the throne at that moment darn it.

And Avery's was in a closet upstairs next to the vacuum. Good hunting this year kiddos!

Then we headed up to Morgan to hang out with the Hansen Clan. We hunted for eggs inside the house this year to avoid another freezing hunt.

My kids love love love being with their cousins. Grandpa and Grandma Bunny had a special chocolate bunny sucker for all the kids who found their eggs!

The rest of the day we enjoyed just hanging around as one humongous happy family.

Allred Easter Party

Friday April 2, 2010
(Allred Easter Party)

We had a really cold Easter party with the Allred side this year. It just happen to be freezing, but that won't stop us from planning a big event! We went up to Chad and Kori's house, Chad let the kids feed his new little baby calf, the kids thought it was awesome.

After the eggs were hidden the kids were off, just not the perfect spring magazine picture of Easter... we were in scarfs and hats and gloves and coats, you'd think we live in Alaska!

And yes, there was even a little bit of snow to bury a few eggs in!

After the egg hunt we had a BBQ, played games, rode 4 wheelers, and built a fire for some fun s'more making!
