Best Mom Award

In the world we live in there are certain things you must do
for your kids to be considered
"A GOOD MOM" these things usually consist of cooking, cleaning, helping with homework, teaching, and driving the kids to where they need to be in a timely manner. Plus a whole other long list of things........WELL newsflash although I do those things the kids rarely recognize them. Instead the simplicity of letting them squish a mattress, blankets and pillows under the staircase earned me a heart warming "MOM YOUR THE BEST MOM EVER" comment. hhhmm okay I'll take it, easy enough! My kids spent much of there Christmas vacation this year sleeping in very random and uncomfortable (if you ask me) spots. And I was considered pretty cool, life is good!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve together with just our own little family, this is something we've done for a few years now and I love it. The kids are so happy and giddy the whole night and so am I! We start out of course with the traditional opening of the Christmas pj's. This year we got the kids robes...they absolutely love them and have been asking for one ever since they saw Kevin in Home Alone running around in his!

Next up... Eggnog and Gingerbread. This year we made a train!

Soon the kid's were tucked into bed and dreaming of sugar plums!

Unfortunately about 30 minutes later BAM... Avery woke up with croup out of nowhere. She could not breath and was hysterically wheezing for air. Bubba spent the next few hours out on the porch bundled up while I did my Christmas Eve duties alone with a crying baby who decided not to go to sleep. Avery came in after awhile and was wheezing again really bad after about 15 minutes of being inside. So it was out on the porch again...Bubba finally decided she wasn't breathing good enough and he took her to the ER at about 3:30 for a treatment. He got home at 7:30 and the kids woke up at 8:00. Ya we were a little big tired Christmas Day! Ave was so exhausted we tried to wake her up to come out with the other kids but she was completely incoherent, so SAD!
Avery's big Christmas present was her "Tangled" castle and princesses.

The big ticket item for Breck and Tate was their motor scooters. Me and Bub even took them for a spin and believe me they are a riot! I think I'll be having a bit of fun on them too.

After all the presents were opened I heard Tate inform Brecken that his favorite present was the jackpot of silly bands he got. HHHMMM considering how much the motor scooter cost and that the silly bands were $7 I'll really have to do a better job of prioritizing my shopping next year.

When Avery finally woke up she was a little bit kooky, and still very sick. She walked around dazed for a long time! lol

But I think once she realized that Santa had found us she actually cracked a smile!

Allred Christmas Party

This year at Bubba's parents house the kids performed a cute little nativity for us. They even memorized their own little parts, it was simple and sweet and of course we loved it.

Squishing up as a family on the couch...this is what the HOLIDAYS are all about!

The grandkids were as excited as always about the famous ELF HUNT. This year the house was pitch black and they had to answer questions about the Savior's birth to be able to hear a bell that led them to the next question (all around the house) Each kid had their very own finger flashlight they had a blast.

Present time!

Here are my four cute little gingerbreads!

All the grandkids together in their new Jammies...believe it or not we are actually missing 7 other grandkids who were out of town. (we missed you guys)

FROSTY WEEKEND 2010

This year Frosty held to it's ever famous name by being an absolute BLAST! We always manage to have tons of fun with our awesome family! First things First...everyone had to check out the newest addition to the family, and I'm sure Crew loved all the attention.

Next up...THE HUNT FOR FROSTY BEGINS... All the grand kids gather around Grandpa and listen to the clues of where Frosty's parts are hidden, they run around the house trying to find the next one. They are giggling and sqealing the whole time...it's so cute.
Here's the proud bunch with Frosty behind them.

My mom always does such a cute job of decorating which
always adds to the "Frosty" spirit!

Dessert Table.....enough said

Here are all the grand kids with their new "jamies."
Minus Taden and Damian who are in California.

The ever famous "Grab Bag Game."

Lots of hanging around, talking, eating, and laughing.
A definite recipe for FUN!

The next day while all the guys played basketball
we let all the little elves begin their bake off, in search of the perfect sugar cookie!

No frosty weekend would be complete without "SNOW FUN" the kids loved sledding and playing in the fresh snow and even built this awesome snowman!

I busted Avery in the pantry loading up on marshmallows...
at least she gave me this darling smile!

The weekend didn't lack much of anything except maybe some sleep. So we'd take a few cat naps whenever we could.
Thanks for such a fun weekend mom and dad!
